The G-SHOCK DW-5000R-1A, my most iconic G-SHOCK watch

Since my first g-shock about 1 year ago that I wrote about here, link to story, I have grown from discovering G-SHOCK into a love towards G-SHOCK that gets stronger day by day.

I don’t like all G-SHOCK models, but even if I don’t like the design of all Casio G-SHOCK models, I love the fact that Casio has a wide variety G-SHOCK designs because that way most people will find a model that pleases their eye.

One thing I really like about Casio G-SHOCKs is that Casio is making a lot of re-issues or re-makes of many iconic G-SHOCK models through out the historyy of G-SHOCK. And with that, we get to the most iconic G-SHOCK I own, which is in my opinion is the most iconic re-make of any G-SHOCK watch that Casio has put out, the re-issue or re-make of the first original Casio G-SHOCK from 1983, the G-SHOCK DW-5000C, the G-SHOCK DW-5000R-1A.

Casio came out with the G-SHOCK DW-5000R-1A to celebrate 40 years for the original G-SHOCK watch with updated technology.

And of course I had to do 2 things, get one for myself and get the model to the lineup of Time Vibe. Both a bit of a challenge, as it’s among the top wanted G-SHOCK models globally. With the change of my supplier for my shop, I have been able to get a better variety of G-SHOCK models, including the G-SHOCK DW-5000R-1A, which I’m super happy about. But even if it’s available at Time Vibe (link to the watch) I have only managed to get very few pieces in stock and occasionally it runs out, so be quick and get one fast as I believe it will be one of the classics of G-SHOCK for years to come!

I wear my G-SHOCK DW-5000R-1A as something that costs millions even if it costs around 200 euros, because I think it’s such a special watch because of it’s heritage of the original G-SHOCK watch and when wearing it I feel like I’m a part of the legendary G-SHOCK history.
