The CasiOak — Reimagined

The hidden G-mark. The metallic camo. The CasiOak silhouette.

Two colorways, both built from bio-based resin made from corn. 51 grams. 11.8 mm thin. 200 metres water resistant. Three years on a battery.

Why these CasiOaks?

Four reasons this is the CasiOak refresh of 2026.

🔍

Hidden G-mark

The G-SHOCK logo is woven into the camouflage pattern itself — a detail you’ll only catch when you’re looking for it.

Metallic Print

This isn’t matte field camo. The pattern is printed in metallic ink — it shifts and shines depending on the light.

🌱

Bio-Based Resin

Case and band made from a polymer derived from corn. Same toughness, smaller footprint.

G-SHOCK GA-2100 launch in late 2019

THE CASIOAK STORY

When Casio released the GA-2100 in late 2019, the watch world reacted before Casio’s marketing could. Within weeks of launch, photos of the new G-SHOCK were circulating online with one nickname already attached: the CasiOak.

The reason was instantly obvious. The flat octagonal bezel, the integrated case-and-strap silhouette, the deliberate restraint compared to G-SHOCK’s usual armored aesthetic — it all pointed to one place. The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, designed by Gérald Genta in 1972, the watch credited with inventing the luxury sports watch category. A piece that starts north of €25,000.

Casio didn’t say “we made a Royal Oak.” They didn’t have to. The watch community said it for them, and the GA-2100 became one of the most talked-about Casio releases of the modern era. Slim by G-SHOCK standards at 11.8 mm thick and 51 grams, tough as anything Casio has built, and priced where most of us actually live.

Six years later, the CasiOak isn’t a moment — it’s a platform. Casio releases new colorways and variants on the GA-2100 platform constantly, and the watch enthusiast world keeps showing up. The GA-2100CM Camouflage series is the latest chapter.

THE HIDDEN G-MARK, DECODED

Look at either GA-2100CM closely. The camouflage pattern across the bezel and band isn’t generic — Casio’s iconic G-mark logo is woven into the print itself, repeating throughout the design. From a distance, it reads as standard camo. Up close, the brand quietly reveals itself.

This isn’t Casio’s first time playing with hidden branding. Past G-SHOCK collaborations and limited releases have hidden initials, dates, and references in dial textures, strap patterns, and case backs. The approach is consistent: subtle detail rewards the wearer who looks, without shouting at the people who don’t.

What makes the GA-2100CM different is the print itself. Rather than a flat matte camouflage, the pattern is applied in metallic ink that catches and shifts in changing light. In low light, the watch reads as monotone. In direct sunlight, the metallic camo comes alive — pink shimmer on the -5A, gunmetal sheen on the -8A.

It’s a design idea that pulls from gorpcore and urban outdoor fashion — camouflage as aesthetic rather than as utility — and translates it onto a case shape that already lives at the intersection of street style and tool watch.

BIO-BASED RESIN, EXPLAINED

The case and band of both GA-2100CM watches are made from bio-based resin — a polymer derived from corn rather than petroleum.

Standard watch resin is a fossil-fuel-based plastic. Bio-based resin replaces those fossil-derived inputs with renewable plant matter, processed through chemical or biological synthesis. The end material behaves the same way standard resin does: shock-resistant, lightweight, weatherproof. It just has a meaningfully smaller environmental footprint over its lifecycle.

Casio has been quietly transitioning its G-SHOCK lineup to bio-based resin across multiple models, part of a broader sustainability push by the brand. The GA-2100CM series is one of the recent releases that uses this material across both the case bezel and the strap.

For the wearer, the difference is invisible — same flex, same durability, same G-SHOCK toughness rating. For Casio’s environmental impact, the difference is substantial when scaled across the millions of watches the brand sells each year. A small change with large consequences — and one of the quieter reasons newer G-SHOCKs are some of the more thoughtful tool watches in their price category.

SPECS DEEP-DIVE

The GA-2100CM watches sit on the well-established GA-2100 platform, which means the specifications are familiar to anyone who already knows the CasiOak.

HOW TO WEAR METALLIC CAMO

Camouflage as a fashion print isn’t new — but the GA-2100CM rethinks how it should sit on the wrist. The metallic finish moves the print closer to streetwear-tailoring than to military surplus, which changes how you can style it.

The Rose Camo (GA-2100CM-5A). Pairs naturally with neutrals — black, white, raw denim, washed olive. Treat it like the statement accessory it is: keep the rest of the outfit tonal and let the watch do the work. Avoid layering it with other pink or warm-toned pieces; the metallic camo wants room to breathe.

The Steel Camo (GA-2100CM-8A). Far more flexible. Works with monochrome black or gray, layered streetwear, technical outerwear, even the casual end of business attire. Reads as a textured neutral rather than a bold accent. Comfortable equally with sneakers and Chelsea boots.

Both watches. At 45.4 mm wide and 11.8 mm thin, the case wears smaller than its measurements suggest. It slides under most cuffs, sits flush against the wrist, and doesn’t catch on sleeves. The integrated band and case shape mean it always reads as a complete piece rather than as a watch on a strap.

The talk

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is the GA-2100CM a real G-SHOCK?
Yes. Both the GA-2100CM-5AER and the GA-2100CM-8AER are official Casio G-SHOCK models, released as part of the 2026 GA-2100 lineup. Time Vibe sources from authorized European supply, with full Casio manufacturer warranty and original packaging.

What’s the difference between the -5A and the -8A?
The watches are mechanically identical — same case, same movement, same features, same dimensions, same battery life. The only difference is the colorway. The -5A is a metallic rose/pink camouflage. The -8A is a metallic gray/gunmetal camouflage.

Is the strap replaceable?
Yes. The GA-2100 platform uses Casio’s standard G-SHOCK quick-release strap system. Official Casio replacement straps are available in many colors and materials, and third-party options are widely available.

How water resistant is it really?
Rated to 200 metres / 20 ATM. Safe for swimming, snorkeling, surfing, and water sports. All everyday water exposure — washing dishes, rain, swimming pools — is well within rating.

How long does the battery last?
Approximately three years on the original SR726W batteries (two of them). When the time comes, any watchmaker can replace them. The GA-2100CM is not solar-powered; the solar/Bluetooth equivalent in the same case shape is the GA-B2100.

Where does it ship from? Is the warranty real?
Time Vibe is a Finnish company. Watches ship from a European warehouse in Italy. Every watch carries the official Casio manufacturer warranty.
