I wanted to treat me with something special for my birthday. Even if I have many very nice watches from G-SHOCKs to basic 20 eur Casio and Citizen ISO 6425 certfied divers’ watch and the automatic Seiko and many more, I was missing something that felt truly special. And for my birthday I wanted to get that truly special watch.
I started to go through watches to find something special. First of all it needed to be a special edition or limited edition. This narrows it down quite a bit. Then I wanted it to be something that resambles my life in, and the ocean has always been a big part of my life so I decided to go with a special edition divers’ watch from Seiko, The Seiko Prospex Save the Ocean Special Edition Diver’s Antarctica Monster SRPH75K1.
Why is this so special to me? Well, the watches that go under Seiko’s Save the Ocean family give part of the sales to the Cousteau Society. And for me this was just the perfect to have an ideology like this behind the watch itself.
On top of the Cousteau Society connection, the Seiko Monster Antarctica SRPH75K1 in my eyes looks beautiful, with all the details of the dial, the different styling from a traditonal divers’ watch.
The dial itself has beautiful details, pinguins swimming and the color of the dial is not just a plain color, it’s something so beautiful with is shimmering in the sun and at the same time it’s discreet and low key, the perfect combination of details and flashy design with high quality craftmanship.
I have now had the Seiko Monster Save the Oceans for almost a month and every day I love it more then the day before, it just sits on my wrist perfectly. I still wear other watches too, but somehow this watch feels like it’s a part of me.
I’m super happy that I got this watch for my birthday and I’m also so happy that I am able to sell the The Seiko Prospex Save the Ocean Special Edition Diver’s Antarctica Monster SRPH75K1 here in my watch shop the Time Vibe.
