The SSC965P1 is the Speedtimer that trades the racetrack for the coastline. Its mint green sandblasted dial sits in a category of its own within the “Youngtimer” collection — a colour pulled from the paint palettes of 1980s and ’90s sports cars that shifts between soft green, grey, and icy blue depending on the light. Against that cool, desaturated surface, the black sub-dials hold the signature Panda layout with clean contrast, giving the watch a presence that feels both relaxed and purposeful.

Everything else stays true to the Speedtimer blueprint. The 39mm stainless steel case carries the smooth, flowing lines inherited from the original 1960s–’70s models, sitting comfortably on the wrist without demanding attention it hasn’t earned. Seiko’s V192 solar caliber draws energy from any light source, building a six-month power reserve that makes battery changes a thing of the past. The chronograph measures up to 60 minutes in 1/5-second increments, and when it’s not timing, the minute counter switches to a power reserve display — a practical detail that gives the solar Speedtimers a character all their own. A steel tachymeter bezel — in place of the black configuration found on the SSC961 and SSC963 — lightens the visual weight and gives the SSC965P1 a more refined, tonal look.

It’s the most contemporary expression of the Youngtimer trio — a sports chronograph that proves a tool watch can carry colour without losing any of its intent.
